The Community Foundation of the Ozarks
Louise is responsible for the overall direction of communications and marketing for The Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO), including news releases, print newsletters, brochures, e-newsletters, the annual report, CFO websites, social media, affiliate marketing assistance, radio and video projects and special events.
Louise also has experience in disaster communications through her CFO work and her background as the director of public information for the city of Springfield and a reporter/editor for the Springfield News-Leader. She also participates in a cohort of 18 Midwestern community foundations for the Philanthropic Preparedness, Resiliency and Emergency Partnership program hosted by The Funders’ Network. She also wrote a national grant to produce workshops on disaster resilience for nonprofits in Joplin and Springfield.
A native of Detroit, Louise holds a degree in journalism from Michigan State University and has certification from the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service at the University of Virginia. She completed Drury University’s first Social Media Certification Program in June 2010.
Louise’s current community activities include the Springfield Regional Arts Council, Springfield Sister Cities Association and Friends of the Garden boards, Downtown Rotary, Female Leaders in Philanthropy, the Drury University Center for Nonprofit Communications and The Good Community Committee.
