Renee White
Dr. Renee White has been a professional social worker for over 30 years, working in various fields of social work including: child welfare, medical, death & dying, substance abuse, domestic violence, and mental health.
Her passion lies in community-level collaboration and advocacy. She has been active in over 15 community level nonprofits in southwest Missouri, including the Joplin Area Long-Term Recovery Committee (LTRC) after the May 2011 tornado, of which she was the chairperson. Under her leadership, the Joplin Area LTRC was able to rehouse over 1,300 families with the logging of over one million hours of volunteer labor, offer Disaster Case Management to over 1,600 families and individuals, and build stable collaborations with over 70 LTRC member organizations.
Currently she is the executive director of the Joplin Community Clinic (medical and dental care for the uninsured) and department chair/associate professor at Missouri Southern State University, Social Work Department, Joplin, MO.
