David Hertzberg
Capital Improvement Project Manager, city of Joplin
David Hertzberg has been with the city of Joplin since 1981. He began as a civil engineer and at the time of the tornado was the Public Works Director. David oversaw the removal of over three million cubic yards of street and private property debris removal in 10 weeks, the issuance of 4,000 building permits in four months. His department had responsibility for clearing over 100 miles of streets and sewers. Today, David is the Capital Improvement Project Manager with responsibility for over $50 million Capital Improvement Sales Tax projects and provides continued project management for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funded projects.
David graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering. He has been a licensed Professional Engineer since 1987.
